Creative Communities 2019 – Artists in Residence

Our Work | March 20, 2019

Tricky Hat has been selected to be in residence as part of Glasgow Life Creative Communities – Artists in Residence scheme in Ward 23 East Partick / Kelvindale between March and June 2019. As part of this residency, asked many questions to people living in the area focusing on art and the place where they live.

We ran four public Vox Pop events in Gartnavel Royal Hospital, Glasgow Clyde College, The Kibble Palace and Partick Housing Association, 2 digital installations in Ha’Penny Bridge House and Patrick Housing Association.

We blended all the contributions which emerged to create a multimedia Forum Theatre piece at Partick Burgh Hall, involving participants living in the area, video, music, dance and yoga.

Creative Communities is a new citywide project for Glasgow, employing an artist in residence for every community. The project aims to gather views from local people about how to improve health, wellbeing, confidence and quality of life throughout the city by strengthening local links with arts and culture. Creative Communities is funded by Glasgow City Council and managed by Glasgow Life.
