Kyo-En 京炎 is a collaboration between Scottish and Japanese Flames based in Kyoto. Tricky Hat and Kyoto-based company NPO Gekiken have led online workshops and filmed in both countries to explore the lives, hopes and dreams of participants.
We created the film 命 Inochi meaning “life” but also “living”, “order” and “destiny”:
This film has been showcased to a live audience @Kyoto Arts Centre on Saturday 4th December 2021.
This project is supported by British Council & Creative Scotland partnership UK in Japan 2020 as well as Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation and The Great Britain Sasakawa Foundation.
