Lense-based Media Artist
Born in Iran, Laleh worked in theatre as both an Actor and Assistant Director for four years, before completing an MBA and working in the insurance industry. However, after moving to Greece, Laleh pursued a career in photography and film, contributing to an AI Weiwei documentary film on the plight of refugees.
After moving to Glasgow in 2019 Laleh combined her studies in Television with co-projects with an African refugee organisation and Iranian musicians, documenting live multicultural musical
events. Her personal projects include short documentaries on identity and collaborating with other Iranian artists for exhibitions. Her recent work with Tricky Hat has focused on using both film and sound to enhance the story telling effects found within a live performance.
